Well, I am now a Dodge Girl. You see up until 1 year ago, I have ALWAYS been a FORD girl. I have had Ford Cars, Trucks, oops, forgot to mention the Chevette & a JEEP.
But, just over a year ago, we had a 2007 Ford F350 with the 6.0 Diesel. CRAP I tell you! If someone wants to sell you a 6.0 Ford Truck RUN!!! Run really fast screaming the other way!!! That truck has serious EGR problems with it! It left us stranded at least 6 times! With the same problem each time!
We've now had the Dodge for over a year. It has over 60,000 miles on it. And I think I'll keep it! I still have tons of power, and great stopping ability. I LOVE the "Jake Brake" or Engine Brake. But watch out for the husband! He will find it necessary to use the Jake Brake IN town at a busy intersection.
So, if you need a new truck, and you want a FULL sized bed, and don't mind a squeeze from the Full Crew Cab of a Ford. You'll get along great with the Dodge!

Hey Girlie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I think you and I could be fast friends! {except for the 'Dodge' thing...} I too have driven all sorts of trucks, Chevy's will run longer with little oil...{ after the rings are shot} Dodges are o.k., until it rains, they tend to take on moisture, and not want to start,{ they just keep trying, but ultimatly, they need to keep dry...they are the most expensive to repair, when needed...they have issues with the electrical and computers too} Fords will run longer when hot. { fan belt or water pump goes} I have driven, and had a personal relationship, with all of my old trucks... The only ones, that Never left me sitting along the side of the road {unless I let them run out of fuel} are the old Fords....I even threw a rod, in a Ford, and with her knockin, oil flyin, 2 kids with, on the interstate, went another 5 miles, to a station...{ we hummed 'Taps' for the old Gal}{ we bought it knowing we were going to have to change the motor... it had 260,000 hard miles, on a newer body... she did her duty, we put a new motor in, and drove it another 100,000, then sold it, and it is still running great!}The motor, you are speaking of, was not good... Ford made a mistake, with that choice... I have always had 'gas' engines, my son, likes diesel... he had that engine, and has now swithced. But we still are 'Ford' folks... My husband works on cars, if I brought anything else home, I'd have to find someone else to change oil... { I do that about every 20,000 miles} I'm bad...I can't begin to tell you how hard I work my trucks... I have had folks put my 'Ford' loads, on their screen savers, because they think no one would believe it... Oh yeah, they are a real work horse!
Good luck with the Dodge,
Happy Trails!
